Thanksgiving is suddenly in the rearview mirror and we’ve entered the last full month of fantasy football — well, the regular season variety, that is. We’ve still got several weeks to potentially cash in on, however, and with that, let’s see what the Parlay4 app has on tap in Week 13.
Joe Burrow vs. KC
Patrick Mahomes @ CIN
Dak Prescott vs. IND
Matt Ryan @ DAL
Joe Burrow Over/Under 19 Fantasy Points
Without question, the biggest high-profile game of the week around the NFL will be emanating from Cincinnati, where the Bengals host the Chiefs in a rematch of last year’s wild AFC Championship bout.
That was actually the second meeting between the two contenders in a one-month span last year (January), as they also faced off in Week 17. And in both contests, Joe Burrow stuffed the boxscore.
In the first encounter, Burrow completed 30-of-39 passes for a mesmerizing 446 yards while stringing together four touchdowns compared to zero picks. Weeks later, they would meet again for a berth in Super Bowl XLVI and it was Burrow who emerged victorious again (after a tremendous comeback), adding 250 yards and a pair of scores as well.
Point being: Burrow apparently knows this defense well, and even if Kansas City does sort of avenge those two defeats from a year ago — which is probably the most likely outcome — that still plays into the favor of the Bengals signal-caller. No matter what, the Chiefs will post the points in bunches and in the process, Burrow should throw often to keep up.
The former No. 1 overall draft pick is having another banner season in 2022, carrying the league’s sixth-highest passer rating (101.7) into this contest. Fantasy football owners should also take note that Burrow now has his receiving corps at full strength again after Ja’Marr Chase returned to the gridiron just last week.
Running back Joe Mixon is questionable but if he’s not active, that just points to a bigger workload for Burrow. In the process, he’ll plate more fantasy points.
Pick: OVER 19 Points
The Rest
Patrick Mahomes is always fun to tail but once again, the frontrunner for this season’s MVP award will also have the highest projected fantasy football scoring total. Thus, I think it would be more wise to ride with Burrow and his over instead, especially if the game script helps us out.
As for the other two QBs listed, they’ll be going opposite one another on this week’s Sunday Night Football. As great a career as Matt Ryan has enjoyed (some would say Canton worthy, too), he’s just been too inconsistent this year to trust in most fantasy scenarios and that’s only enlightened with the addition of novice coach Jeff Saturday. Avoid the trouble.
Dak Prescott, meanwhile, has been very kind to those who deploy him in fantasy. However, the Cowboys are big favorites against the Colts this week and if they build a decisive lead early, he may not engineer as many fantasy points in the second half if Dallas opts to run the ball.
