Now into Week 10 of the fantasy football season, a lot of the usual suspects can be found at the top of scoring leaderboards as far as quarterbacks go. Let’s look at this week’s offerings on the Parlay4 app.
Jimmy Garoppolo vs. LAC
Justin Herbert @ SF
Dak Prescott @ GB
Aaron Rodgers vs. DAL
Aaron Rodgers Over/Under 14.8 Fantasy Pts
Perhaps a lot of people are starting to lose faith in Aaron Rodgers after the future Hall-of-Famer’s three-interception outing last week in an uncharacteristic loss at Detroit, a city where the Packers always win. How else to explain this interestingly low fantasy-scoring projection for Rodgers at Lambeau Field?
The loss to the lowly Lions makes it four straight defeats for Rodgers and Co. but that doesn’t mean to just suddenly fade the former NFL MVP — especially considering he has never thrown for multiple interceptions in back-to-back games during his 18 years in the league.
Such a tendency points to Rodgers bouncing back despite an oncoming matchup opposite a Cowboys defense that yields the fourth-fewest passing yards each week. Still, this is an assignment at home for Rodgers, where he’s typically been better in his career.
In fact, Rodgers sports a lifetime passer rating at Lambeau (108.6) that is considerably higher than it is on the road (99.4). Not only that, the 38-year-old is getting an opponent whom he’s mastered throughout the years. In 10 meetings with Dallas (including postseason), Rodgers holds an illuminating 101.8 passer rating, etching 16 TDs compared to only two INTs
Rodgers could also benefit from a favorable game script. The Cowboys are favored by a decent amount to emerge victorious, and should that be how the game plays out, Rodgers will be playing down and throwing often to accumulate those tasty numbers fantasy owners love.
Pick: OVER 14.8 Pts
Since returning from injury in late October, Dak Prescott has amassed a couple of big games that filled the stat sheets in fantasy football leagues all over. However, his next matchup in Green Bay will provide a tougher environment in which colder temperatures are expected. Anticipate the Cowboys to possibly lean more on the run.
Meanwhile, in the Sunday Night Football affair, Justin Herbert and Garoppolo go head to head. While Herbert is typically a dependable guy for big stats, it’s clear he’s not having as easy a time right now with his top two wide-outs, Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, still on the sidelines. The counterpart, Garoppolo, can also be passed on given the other options fantasy owners can tail at quarterback this week.
